Jorge’s Cantina, a Fan district favorite for some, is officially closed after less than two years in business.
The restaurant closed temporarily in July because of lack of business and necessary repairs, but is now closed permanently and the space is up for lease.
According to Richmond.com, who interviewed owner Jake Crocker, the building lost its necessary parking spaces after a residential development broke ground in the office spaces that owned the parking lot. To comply with city ordinances, the owners tried to find other parking spaces but could not.
Richmond.com also reported that the owners were behind on rent as of July and now face legal action from the building’s owner.
Crocker told Richmond.com there were no plans to open Jorge’s Cantina in a new location.
