9 Vegan Restaurants to Go to Around VCU

via Lorin Simpson

It’s a fact that there aren’t many options for those who have a vegan diet on campus, especially if you are a freshman and forced to have a dining plan. I’ve found that one of the biggest questions for those in that position is this: Are there any places that are vegan friendly off campus? I don’t want to eat the same thing everyday.

So, in honor of World Vegan Day, I’ve decided to make a quick list of some vegan-friendly places to go to near the VCU Monroe Park Campus. The best part? All of my suggestions have been vegan-approved by fellow VCU students.

*As a disclaimer, I do not have a vegan or vegetarian diet. I am just extremely passionate about people having the opportunity to eat good food, regardless of their dietary or medical restrictions.

It’s almost like you get the wide selection of Shafer with the ability to eat it outside of Shafer! Or at Rodney’s. OPTIONSSelection...

Bleeker Street, Snead’s own sandwich shop A business student favorite, considering it’s in Snead hall. Sandwiches are very popular, as are their salads. They offer something easy for students to eat while they work or during class, which is perfect for VCU’s own business building. It’s good food.OPTIONSSandwiches on various t...

Have you ever heard of Subway? Subway is now the main sub locations on the meal plan. Good selection and good quality  for Subway. Keep in mind it’s not the full Subway menu, but you can pretty much request whatever you would like. If you see it, you can order it, and you can tell them exactly how you like it too, just like a real Subway!...
